[12:25] - Twitter down from stress
[11:59] - Official Apple iPhone 3G Product Page.
[11:58] - Apple Store down due to stress… no you can’t pre-order the iPhone… not that we know of yet.
[11:50] - The end… no wait…
[11:48] - Confirmed…All iPhone 3G models will be available July 11th 2008.
[11:48] - wow i was totally kidding about the whole safe thing earlier but apparently that’s happening. lol. (in the new advertisement)
[11:46] - Confirmed iPhone 3G 8GB = $199… iPhone 3G 16GB = $299. Available in black and white.
[11:44] - They’re taking the iPhone global, including service for scientists in Antarctica… the ones that live in those little white tents.
[11:42] - iPhone 3G cost still unknown… Scoble reporting that a line is forming outside of his apple store. No confirmation on inventories yet.
[11:40] - iPhone 3G will have 300 hours standby battery life.
[11:36] - Comparing speeds, edge vs. 3G. The new iPhone 3G downloads a web page in 21 seconds compared to edge @ 59 seconds.
[11:35] - The Leaked photos are now looking just like the real thing.
[11:34] - Confirmed … iPhone 3G
[11:31] - Everything in Seth’s post “The clowd” is coming true… eerie. So soon.
[11:28] - The safe is causing too much of an interruption now and they’ve just decided to open it. — It won’t open…
[11:26] - That little safe must be a special prop because it’s rumbling during the presentation.
[11:19] - Using a hand truck they just brought a medium-sized safe on stage. When the safe was opened… glitter and mist emanated briefly revealing another small safe that is now the focus of everyone’s attention. The safe is just sitting there on the podium. gah
[11:12] - New Apps for the iPhone will be available in July. No cost for iPhone users, only 10 dollars for touch users.
— Geek Break Candy —
[11:01] - Getting to the good stuff now. More stage effects occurring, the stage must be pneumatic.
[10:53] - They’re demoing new apps, one is called Caramel Apple. It’s a privacy feature for the iPhone that shows a cascade of gooey caramel covering up the contents of the screen. If you touch the screen with your finger the caramel reacts just as if you put your finger in a small stream of running water.
[10:50] - That old lady in the walker … is still standing there. No one wants to give up their seat for her.
[10:34] - Apparently it may now be possible to purchase sodas in the US with the iPhone very soon. There is application in iTunes that illustrates a specific vending machine’s inventory. You can flip through the sodas and snacks just as you would album artwork. Nutritional information is provided on demand as well.
[10:29] - Lots of disruption near one of the side doors during this presentation. This guy is walking around with a bucket on a stick over his shoulder… and he’s dressed in rags? Who is that supposed to be.. Security is handling it now and the whole crowd is laughing.
[10:27] - They are discussing location-based applications for the iPhone. Nothing new really. Some people are sighing as the presentation moves a long to yet another boring topic.
[10:19] - They’re going over SDK stuff.. more fluff. Here please trick your friends and possibly a massive group of people since there are so many of you following this page right now… trick them into thinking it’s real on twitter of course.
[10:13] - We knew there would be a lot of boring fluff so we brought snacks… dunkaroos. In the meantime please tell everyone on Twitter that you’re watching the coverage here… we’ll send you stickers (promise): Spread the word.
[10:09] - There is some dude on stage right now making small talk… We don’t care about whether or not this was the biggest venue, obviously you could afford something bigger and better.
[10:04] - Lots of special effects this year, mist coming from the base of the stage, purple lighting and glitter?
[10:00] - Zero Hour… nothing happening yet.
[9:43] - There is this really old lady in a walker behind us… I’m typing furiously pretending I don’t see her so I don’t have to give up my seat.
[9:35] - Everyone just started cheering really loudly… I wish I could tell you what it was about but we’re too interested in the holes right now. om nom nom.
[9:31] - They’re playing Mr. Sandman by the Barbershop Quartet and running a reel on the main screen in memory of the Back to the Future set that was damaged last week.
[9:30] - They passed around a box of donut holes, some people held onto the box longer than they should have. By the time we got the box there were no napkins.
[9:25] - It’s really cold in here they have the air conditioner on full blast. A lot of people are shivering and complaining.
